Kaikoura is a stunning coastal town located on the South Island of New Zealand, and home to many marine mammal residents. This is one of the only places in the world where you can find year-round populations of sperm whales, the largest toothed animal in the world. Situated along a major migratory route, we frequently see other species of whales and dolphins passing through the area including humpback whales, blue whales, killer whales, and many more. Dusky dolphins and NZ fur seals are year round residents.
